Company Overview

Hotel Ashiyana Residency is a boutique hospitality provider located in Lucknow, India. The hotel offers premium lodging and services to both domestic and international travelers.

With increasing demand for online bookings and digital engagement, the hotel sought to modernize its web presence and backend systems.

Customer Challenge

  • Slow Website Performance - Poor page load-times during high traffic periods.

  • Scattered Data - Customer and booking data spread across spreadsheets and local systems.

  • Lack of Integrated Analytics - Nounified analytics for customer behavior or marketing effectiveness.

Solution Approach

  • Website Migration - Migrated website (https://hotelashiyanaresidency.com) to AWS EC2 with CloudFront for low-latency performance.

  • Centralized Database - Centralized customer and booking database using Amazon RDS (MySQL).

  • Integrated Analytics  - Integrated GoogleAnalytics and tracking dashboards for insights on user engagement.

  • Admin Dashboard - Created admin dashboard for staff to manage bookings, rooms, and marketing campaigns.

Outcomes & Impact

  1. Website Migration: We restructured the hotel’s legacy website and backend into a cloud-native architecture. The front-end was optimized for responsiveness and SEO, while the backend was migrated to a scalable compute layer hosted on Amazon EC2 with autoscaling enabled. Enhancements were also made to integrate live booking status, seasonal offers, and a modular CMS framework. A secure SSL setup was applied, and static content (images, PDFs, media) was offloaded to Amazon S3 + CloudFront for faster global delivery.

  1. Database Migration: The customer database previously scattered across spreadsheets and local systems was consolidated into a centralized schema hosted on Amazon RDS (MySQL). CloudTry migrated legacy records via AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) while ensuring no data loss or downtime during the cutover. Compatibility issues were mitigated with targeted schema adjustments, and point-in-time backup/restore strategies were set up for disaster recovery.

3. Testing: A multi-phase testing plan was executed across development, staging, and production environments. This included:

    • Data integrity validation post-migration
    • Functional and regression testing across booking and admin workflows
    • Performance benchmarking (load tests) to simulate real-world guest traffic
    • Smoke and failover tests to ensure backup/recovery integrity

URL Redirection & SEO Preservation

OldURLs were maintained with 301 redirects in the CloudFront + ALB layer to preserve SEO rankings and ensure smooth user transition. DNS updates and SSL provisioning were automated to reduce downtime during go-live.
